Even if you’ve been here before, there’s always a new world to discover. Cyprus lies at the crossroads of three continents, where East meets West and a new experience awaits for you under the sun every day. Come and enjoy the island’s beauty once more.
After the RTI & WOCO world meeting in Cyprus in 2007, Round Table Cyprus is organising the southern tablers meeting in Limassol Cyprus on the 25th-28th of March 2010.
Experience at first hand one of the oldest civilisations of the Mediterranean, one that goes back 10,000 years.

Conquered by foreign powers throughout its long history, the island is like a large open air museum where you can see evidence of its chequered past. Ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Venetians, Ottomans and British all left their mark, making the island a mosaic of different cultures and periods.

Cypriot hospitality is legendary, and you’ll be given the warmest of welcomes in Cyprus by the Cypriot tablers!!

5500 years of winemaking history Cyprus was one of the first countries to make wine and many historians believe that it may have the longest continuous history of winemaking in the world. This makes Cyprus the oldest wine producing country in Europe. Commandaria is undoubtedly the island’s most famous wine. Known as the ‘Wine of Kings and King of Wines’, it is recognised as the world’s oldest wine brand. This sweet, dessert wine is also Cyprus’ only appellation controlee wine, and is made from both the Mavro and Xynisteri grapes. This historic panorama of continuous wine history that the island possesses is just one of the reasons that make your trip to Cyprus and the STM 2010 such a fascinating prospect.  The wine is waiting for all of us on the 26th of March!!

If the way to the heart is through the stomach, it’s no wonder visitors fall in love with Cyprus. The Cypriot people are passionate about food and cooking is a favourite pastime. Come to STM 2010 and taste a gastronomic feast second to none, with fresh local ingredients, and enjoy unique tastes of the local cuisine, a cuisine which through the centuries and history cannot be compared to any other!!

Upon arrival at the airport we will pick you up (with a glass of wine) and take you for pampering at the 5 Star Apollonian Beach Hotel. Set amidst flowering cactus and framed against the glittering Mediterranean Sea this recently refreshed Limassol hotel stretches out its effortless charm and traditional Cypriot hospitality. Set on the beachfront of the cosmopolitan city of Limassol and in the heart of the tourist area with restaurants, bars and shops a few steps away. Prices are so low for this event that will make you want to stay more!!

Double room is 45 euro pp/pn (Single room - 70 euro pp/pn) including an amazing rich breakfast.

Following that we will treat you with food and local drinks during dinner

Next day is our wine tour that offers everything. Natural scenery, pretty villages, local produce and, at a break in the journey, rest, relaxation and delicious wines to tempt the palate.
Along this Wine Route there are 20 villages. It is the fourth region of Wines of Controlled Denomination in Cyprus. Large quantities of indigenous grapes are grown here. This is a Route to savour, so pleasant that the words of the Greek poet Constantinos Kavafi s come to mind: “You should want the road to be a long one”. Here both to travel and to arrive are pleasures. Nature, and man’s cultivation of it are all about. For the lover of history, there is plenty to engage the attention too. “Meze” lunch in the mountains and dinner back to Limassol.

On Saturday STM works, banner lunch, city tour and gala dinner at night. Of course every night is going to be full of fun in the bustling nightlife of the town which offers an active nightlife, catering something for everybody. Bars, cafes, pubs, night clubs of all kinds are all at a walking distance from the hotel.

Sunday will be farewell branch for those who are leaving, and if you want to stay more or come earlier than the 25th, then let us know and you will enjoy our hospitality !!
